Learn Suzuki Piano – Suzuki Piano Lessons in Burleson, TX

Want to learn to play a song by ear? Here are the steps I use with beginners!

Listen daily. Students listen to their Suzuki playlist daily, just as background music.
Parents lead at-home practice helping the student find the notes. (Parents use the book for help finding starting notes and fingerings.)
The teacher helps the student learn tricky sections, then the parent can continue those practice strategies at home.
Students memorize all their songs, then play along with the recordings also.
We add harmony later, once the melody is completely memorized and comfortable.

With this system, the child automatically begins listening as they play–teaching themself to play by ear! By the time most students get to song #11, they play the entire melody by ear without help the first day they try it!!! By the time students get to song #16 (the end of book 1), they are figuring out harmony parts by ear also, using a bit of note reading to help.

The strongest musicians can READ too! After students can play about 7 songs by ear with a nice hand position, we layer in reading. We read new music every day, which helps us focus on actual reading (not playing by ear!).

Individual Lessons (with monthly group) for Homeschoolers

Individual piano lessons happen once a week for 30 – 45 minutes. Every 5 weeks or so there is a group class instead of individual lessons. Students are in groups with kids of similar ages and abilities. The monthly fee covers 32 lessons during the school year (August through mid-May).
For beginners ages 4-8, or continuing students at any age!
$120 / month for 30 minute weekly lessons (About $37 per lesson)
$180 / month for 45 minute weekly lessons (About $55 per lesson)
